The Art of Cool Kid Cody

Welcome to this massive digital compilation of all things Cool Kid Cody! Here’s a rundown of everything you can find in here, section by section:

In-Game Art

Contains PSD files for every character and background with (near) pixel-perfect accurate placement to their in game counterparts! By near-pixel-perfect, I mean sometimes I nudge things around programmatically depending on the characters pose or whatever, but for the most part things should look in place, so if you’ve ever wanted to deconstruct Cody’s face layer by layer like a subway sandwich now’s your chance!

Also, the chromatic aberration effects have been merged with their assets, meaning they’ll stay intact whether you’re using Photoshop or Procreate! All PSDs also contain relevant sketches and moodboards, though I tried avoiding rehashing stuff that was already in “Art so Far” so I didn’t cheapen the original artbook.

Out-Game Art

Contains doodles and a vague timeline containing snippets of every CKC school project I ever worked on (and a few extras)!

Music Files

Contains MIDI sequences for every song as well as zipped loop packages (a ZIP that contains the FLP file, all samples and other info needed to open the project in FL Studio)! Be aware these might not be compatible with different DAWs!

Writing

Contains comics, storyboards, Andy’s playtests (before we switched to in-person testing after the pandemic), old episode summaries, unused dialogue, character slang lists and the voice bite list!

Tools

Contains brushes and download links for all fonts used in the game including in the yearbook! All the fonts are free public domain fonts with the exception of Juvie’s, which I paid for in order to use commercially, so if you use their font please keep it to personal use only!

Disclaimer

If you come across any designs or ideas you wish I used but didn’t, in my defense, I too had to look through these files and curse my ineptitude (I’ll never get the chance to use that scrapped Mini- Juvie animation ever again). That being said, you’re more than welcome to use it, or any assets for that matter for your fanstuffs. Speaking of which, thank you so so much for being a fan and buying these files!! We appreciate you all so much and everything you’ve contributed to the community and hope you enjoy all the goodies you find in here. :D
